Getting Started
The fastest path from a new account to your first AI answer about your own material.
How to sign up
- Go to /signup.
- Enter your name, email, and a password, or continue with Google.
- Click Create Account. You land on the Camp Dashboard at
/camp, no setup wizard in between.
How to create your first workspace
Everything in Studycamp starts with a workspace: a dedicated space for one subject or project.
- Go to /camp/workspaces.
- Click Create Workspace.
- Name it (for example “Biology 101”) and click it to open it.
How to upload a file and start studying
- Inside the workspace, upload a PDF, DOCX, or other document.
- Wait for it to finish indexing (a status pill on the file shows Ready). See File Indexing if it seems stuck.
- Click Start Study Session to open the file next to the AI tools.
- Ask a question in Chat, or generate a summary, quiz, or flashcard deck. See Study Sessions.
What you should see
A study session open with your file on one side and a Chat panel on the other, ready to answer questions about that specific document.
Good to know
- Free accounts get 3 workspaces and 1 study session per workspace. Upgrade for unlimited, see Billing & Payments.
- Once you’re set up, visit /camp/settings for theme and language, and Backpack to pin the productivity tools you’ll use most.
- Press Ctrl+J (or Cmd+J) anywhere to jump to any page. See Command Menu.
If it doesn’t work
Upload finishes but Chat says it has nothing to work with: the file is still indexing. Check its status in File Indexing.
“Workspace limit reached”: Free is capped at 3 workspaces. Delete an unused one or upgrade to Pro Student.
