Summaries & Glossaries

Turn a long document into something you can actually read before an exam, plus a glossary of its key terms.

How to use it

  1. Open a study session and select one or more files.
  2. Choose Summary and generate. The AI pulls out the key points across a Summary, Glossary, and Exam tab.
  3. Click the maximize icon to read it without distractions.
  4. From a summary, generate a Glossary or a Quiz based on it.

What you should see

A condensed, readable summary you can export as Markdown or HTML, with a Glossary tab of terms and definitions next to it.

Good to know

  • Multi-file summaries: summarize several documents from a workspace at once.
  • Saved to your cloud: generated summaries are stored and can be used as a source for Chat with Docs.
  • Turn it into a quiz: generate a quiz directly from a summary instead of the raw file.

Limits and costs

A summary costs 300 credits, a glossary costs 400 credits.

If it doesn’t work

Summary misses a section of the document: very long files are summarized from indexed chunks; if a section wasn’t indexed (see File Indexing), it won’t appear.
